Baden-Württemberg economy: little momentum in sight.
› Baden-Württemberg
In the first two quarters, too, the picture is likely to be characterized by low economic momentum, although the forecast growth rate will remain above the zero line. In the longer term, the fact that the inflation rate has fallen significantly compared to the previous quarters could have a positive effect. However, this is not yet having an impact on real development. "Many leading economic indicators have hardly changed in recent months. Exports are also not currently providing any positive impetus," says IAW Director Bernhard Boockmann.
At a national level, the forecast development of GDP in the fourth quarter of 2023 does not look any better than in Baden-Württemberg. The forecasts for Baden-Württemberg and Germany also come to similar conclusions for the first quarter of 2024.
